Currently, I am in full production mode and experimenting with different forms and ideas that have been percolating for some years. This exhibition relates to how Chronic Fatigue Syndrome changed my life and how clay has transformed it. Clay is the seed for my ideas and this exhibition uses the metaphor and inspiration of seed pods and cocoons in relation to personal transformation and growth.
I am having lots of fun experimenting and there are lots of images of my work, progress, process and firings on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/rivanveenceramicartist/

LAND AND SKY EXHIBITION – May- June 2022
I was invited by the Bendigo Pottery to have a solo exhibition in the CLAD Gallery. The inspiration for the Land and Sky exhibition came from all the beauty that surrounds us, from the micro to the macro and was a showcase of all the variety and beauty that can be created with Raku firing.
This was a wonderful time to return to Bendigo as this is where I completed my Bachelor of Visual Arts and once lived. After the Covid lockdowns it was like a reunion seeing many friends and family from around the state that I hadn’t seen for many years. I had lots of wonderful feedback, sales and the whole event was a fabulous experience and I look forward to exhibiting there again in the future.
LITTLE GALLERY -Trentham Don’t be fooled by the name, although we were once a tiny little gallery in 2021 we moved into a beautiful large rebuilt/purpose built gallery. Complete with beautiful high ceilings, north window and toasty warm heated polished concrete floor, we feel very lucky to have this wonderful gallery space to showcase our work. The Little Gallery is open from 10am-4pm Thursday to Monday – we are a team of six sharing the space and the gallery sitting. You can view and purchase a large range of my artwork there and even meet me there at times. Located at 32b High Street Trentham www.trenthamlittlegallery.com |
WEDDING BONBONNEIRES Added to my busy exhibition and gallery schedule is my youngest daughter’s wedding in October and what you do for one you do for them all, so daughter no. 3 and wedding no. 3 sees me making 130 feather pinch pots as bonbonniere for all the guests…. Thank goodness I didn’t have a dozen kids! |
FINAL EXHIBITION FOR 2022 DEC - JAN 2023
Flock on down to Aireys Inlet as I will be ending the year at the Eagle Nest Gallery. I will be exhibiting with 2D artist Rosemary Harris Arnott and we will be showcasing bird nest and feather inspired paintings and ceramic art – I am very much looking forward to this collaboration and to the odd dip in the sea when down that way!
