NESTING - DEC 5th 2022 - JAN 29th 2023
Nesting -
A collaboration between Rosie Harris-Arnott and Ri Van Veen Rosie Harris-Arnott is a painter, printmaker and ephemeral artist whose passion is windfall nests. Her works use real nests or created nests using the local seaweed to print from. Ri Van Veen is a ceramic artist specialising in hand-built ceramics and Raku firings. Her exquisite artworks incorporate abandoned bird nests or feature feathers imprinted onto the surface. We connected over our awe and wonder at the complexity of birds’ nests – intricately woven using their nothing more than their beak and breast. Bird Nests can symbolise a warm, safe home and are also considered good luck symbols, bringing prosperity. |
